Smokey Quartz gains its enigmatic coloring through natural radiation, which activates the aluminum inclusions within the quartz. It is a universaly prevalent stone across cultures, being regarded a sacred stone in Celtic culture, thought to guide souls through to the afterlife, as well as a stone to signify the Greek goddess of magic, Hecate.
