Found only in Globe, Arizona, the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is recognized as being a variation of turquoise with little to no remnants of a sedimentary matrix. It’s name is derived from the mountainous region of which it comes from, which resembles a sleeping woman with her arms crossed. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise has a strong historical association with the Southwestern Native American cultures and is widely regarded as a stone of communication.
