Rainbow Obsidian is formed when silica-rich lava flows cool down so rapidly it cannot arrange its atoms into a crystalline structure; creating glass. It’s iridescent inclusions are owed to the thin-film interferences from trace elements of iron, nickel and copper which produce its emblematic violescence. Rainbow Obsidian is believed to foster light and love into one’s life, encouraging the recognition and deliverance of tender affection.
